The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrative Assistant to join their passionate team.

**Reporting relationship**:
The Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives reports to the President and CEO.

**Overview**:
As a senior member of the chamber’s team, this position is accountable for business development planning and execution, and project management for key initiatives to achieve strategic plan objectives.

**Duties**:

- Responsible for the preparation and execution of the annual business plan section related to business development.
- Identify and develop business development opportunities and partnerships in key sectors to increase engagement and retention of members**.**:

- Establish and maintain relationships with members, community partners and industry to achieve business development goals.
- Participate on committees and working groups, and attend events and conferences in support of local economic and business development initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver presentation to partners, members and other groups, as required.
- In collaboration with Chamber staff, develop and implement strategies to achieve strategic plan priorities in business and economic development.
- Participate in planning communications, government relations and advocacy strategies, in collaboration with the communications section staff.
- Act as project manager for Chamber projects and initiatives.
- Identify and implement internal policy changes to align with member and staff needs
- Develop and monitor and be accountable for section annual budget.
- Perform research and analysis to identify and monitor local industry and sector trends.
- Manage purchasing processes and contracted services contracts, including ensuring alignment with internal policies and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and members.
- Assist the President and CEO in meeting goals and priorities, as set by the Board of Directors.
- Supervise staff within the business development section, as assigned.
- Act as the President and CEO’s designate at events, with members and with staff, when assigned.
- Develop, implement and report on performance measures and Key Performance Indicators for the business development section and projects.

- Adhere to Chamber policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Training**:

- University degree or College diploma in a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Additional education initiatives to update and expand competencies considered an asset.

**Experience and skills**:

- Minimum of two years of directly related and responsible economic and/or business development experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience managing projects.
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends in economic development.
- Knowledge of local economic conditions and business/industry sectors.
- Experience managing third-party contracts and knowledge of applicable legislation and related regulations.
- Budgeting/financial skills and experience.
- Experience in a Microsoft environment with strong computer/technical skills.
- Experience speaking in front of groups/delivering clear, concise presentations.
- Customer-service focused.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Effective management of multiple priorities and projects.
- Excellent use of English, verbally and in writing.
- French and other language verbal and writing skills considered an asset.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $68,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
