We are currently looking for a Store Accounting Specialist to join Georgia Main Food Group Limited and its banners: IGA and Fresh St. Market who is a savvy bookkeeper that takes complete ownership of the bookkeeping duties for all our stores and communicates and collaborates effectively with peers, managers, and executives. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the stores on bookkeeping practices and are the liaison between the stores, the Finance Department, and Information Technology Department.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Store Accounting Support_
- Support the onboarding of new bookkeepers, and provide additional coaching and training tothe bookkeeping team
- Troubleshoot bookkeeping issues at the store level
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly, balancing issues
- Provide cash management support to bookkeepers, department managers, and store managers
- Provide oversight to ensure integrity and completeness of financial reporting

Training
- Provide training to bookkeepers on general accounting procedures, including cash float, period end, balancing, and entries
- Conduct gap analysis to identify gaps in the processes and or knowledge of the Bookkeepers
- Provide coaching
- Ecomm Support_
- Prepare and review all e-comm transactions ensuring accuracy and no irreconcilable differences
- Verify Drop Ship sales and Drop Ship purchases for accuracy
- Identify discrepancies in-store financial data and investigate the root cause
- Other Responsibilities_
- Provide detailed training and information on current processes
- Document workflows and practices
- Act as the liaison between bookkeepers and new technology integration and effectively communicate the changes
- Prepare and provide various financial reports

**Qualifications**
- Work independently and effectively with demonstrated exceptional communication
- Demonstrated customer services skills
- Ability to find solutions to challenges and implement solutions
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Advanced computer skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Minimum completion of a two-year accounting diploma program from a recognized institution or equivalent required
- Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping, accounting or financial experience
- A valid driver’s license and driver abstract are required
- Ability to travel within BC when required
- On occasion, may be required to work during the weekends
