**Accounts Payable Specialist** VineHR is supporting our client with the search for an _**Accounts Payable Specialist**_ to join their close-knit, established and collaborative team in Burnaby. If you are looking for a stable and very friendly team and have 3+ years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced and complex environment, we would love to hear from you **The Opportunity** Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial management of our client by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to vendors, suppliers, and service providers. This position involves maintaining detailed records, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate a smooth workflow. **Key Responsibilities**: **Invoice Processing**: - Receive and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and approval. - Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for payment. **Payment Processing**: - Schedule and process payments to vendors through various methods, such as checks and electronic transfers. - Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of funds while adhering to payment terms. **Vendor Relations**: - Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other relevant matters. - Resolve issues and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. **Expense Reconciliation**: - Reconcile employee expense reports - Verify receipts and ensure compliance with company policies. **Record Maintenance**: - Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions. - Provide necessary documentation for audits. **Process Improvement**: - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable functions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes. We are looking for a strong communicator and a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to work effectively in an autonomous and entrepreneurial environment. Demonstrated ability to process high volume of transactions with tight deadlines will be key to be successful in this position. Post-secondary education coupled with 3+ years of experience in high-volume accounts payable is preferred. **Location** This position is an on-site position at the client’s head office in Burnaby. **Compensation** Our client is offering a comprehensive compensation package including base salary in the range of $50,000 - 54,000 per year depending on experience, bonus, extended benefits, RRSP contribution, vacation and other perks.
