As one of the fastest growing and highly respected Engineering firms in Atlantic Canada, Harbourside is looking for the right individual to join our team and support our growing, multi-company operations. We are seeking an experienced and highly motived HR Generalist to provide support across a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee engagement opportunities. This opportunity is available in our Dartmouth, NS office and will be supporting the operations for all office locations.

**Human Resources Generalist**

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Partner with universities and engage in recruitment events such as job fairs, industry nights, and similar activities, which will involve traveling to campuses for in-person participation.
- Oversee the ongoing recruitment and hiring of co-op students by managing job postings, coordinating interviews, and actively participating in the university co-op hiring process, ensuring a consistent rotation of co-op students within the company.
- Coordinate the recruitment process for full-time hires, including creating and posting job openings, conducting initial resume screenings, and writing job offers.
- Manage employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Manage employee benefits program and stay informed about the latest benefit trends and offerings.
- Provide HR support and advice to employee and managers on a variety of HR related topics.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
- Perform other duties, as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a HR generalist role.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment would be considered a strong asset.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
