Parry Sound, Canada The Drop Full time

**Program Coordinator**:Contract (20 hours / week)

The Drop is a safe, inclusive, non-denominational drop-in space for youth ages 12+ years-old in downtown Parry Sound. The Drop operates September through June (school year) Tuesdays-Thursdays from 3:30-6pm. Summer hours may vary.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with young people; experience with ages 12+ years-old is preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English; written and oral.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
- Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Safe Food Handling certification, to be attained upon successful hire if not held.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Drop is looking for someone who can:

- Support The Drop’s mission and values.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving abilities.
- Support and mentor youth attending The Drop.
- Engage and build rapport with youth, volunteers, and community members.
- Have challenging conversations and navigate difficult situations.
- Perform duties within your training and level of ability, and as agreed upon with directors.
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of our participants, donors, staff, and volunteers.
- Notify a director of any situation that poses a risk to self or others, and report accidents/incidents.
- Open and close The Drop for its regular programming, which includes but is not limited to activity set-up and general space clean-up (ex. vacuuming and bathrooms)
- Once a week garbage removal
- Volunteer orientation and schedule (other duties as assigned for volunteers)
- Develop monthly programming schedule.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, including perishable food items, and replace when needed.
- Submit a Vulnerable Sector Check, completed within the past 3-years, prior to their start date.
- Other duties as required and discussed with the Board of Directors.

Competitive compensation: $22.50 / hour based on experience.
