Job Title:RESTORATIVE JUSTCE PROGRAM FACILITATOR Position Description:
- To work with the PSFC Executive Director, and staff of the PSFC office to increase the quality of service of the PSFC Office.
- Asist with the coordination and organization of an Advisory Council, made up of community members, external agencies and traditional knowledge keepers. To establish Restorative Justice Program Protocols.
- Asist with the coordination and organization of an Elder’s Council in the surrounding First Nations and Urban Indigenous Community for healing circle purposes.
- Reporting statistical data regarding program participants and outcomes.
Reporting Relationship:
The incumbent reports directly to the Executive Director. There are no positions that report to the Cultural Resource Coordinator.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Asist with the coordination and organization of an Advisory Council, made up of community members, external agencies and traditional knowledge keepers. To establish Restorative Justice Program Protocols.
- Asist with the coordination and organization of an Elder’s Council in the surrounding First Nations and Urban Indigenous Community for healing circle purposes.
- Reporting statistical data regarding program participants and outcomes
- Scheduling healing circles, coordinating with all needed participants
- Coordination_
- Connect with Elders and/or traditional resource people to conduct ceremonies as appropriate to the geographic areas and customs
- Administration_
- Quarterly/monthly program reporting as required
- Participation in Evaluation activities as required
- Other administrative duties as required by PSFC
TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURIAL COMPETENCIES
- Behave in a manner that serves as an example of positive cultural values, attitudes, beliefs and actions
- Remain current and implement wise practices in service provision from a culture based platform
- Quality assurance systems are adhered to, implemented and maintained and measure the impacts and outcomes of cultural supports to urban Aboriginal children, youth, adult and families
- Participation in relevant training and professional development activities in accordance with the Parry Sound Friendship Centre’s objectives and within budgetary constraints
- Networking is done to ensure a well maintained list of credible Elders and traditional knowledge keepers is available for the purposes of ceremonial and traditional healing supports for urban Indigenous children, youth, adult and families
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Team orientated
- Satisfactory Level 3 vulnerable sector criminal records check
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
**Salary**: $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
