Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for the administration and maintenance of all customer and vendor invoices and accounts. Working together with other administrative staff this function will ensure that payables and receivables are kept current and reconciled on a regular basis and all paper work is matched, coded, entered, and processed in a timely manner.

KEY DUTIES
1. Ensure deposits are posted to the Account Receivable Sub Ledger on a daily basis and any discrepancies are noted and rectified.
2. Responsible for fulfilling full-cycle A/P
3. Interface with customers/vendors in a courteous professional manner regarding payments, invoice discrepancies and any other inquiries which may arise from time to time.
4. Maintain the general ledger accounts by preparing and posting journal entries, accruals and reconciling accounts.
5. Assist in month end close and annual financial audit by providing related documentation and preparing various accounting summaries and reports.
6. Ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and are done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.
7. Other duties as assigned.

DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION
The incumbent must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and must possess good communication and telephone skills. The incumbent must be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office with an intermediate to advanced level of understanding and experience with Excel.

EDUCATION
The incumbent should have at least three years of experience in an accounts receivables/payables function or possesses a post-secondary certification in accounting. It is equally useful for the incumbent to be proficient in Visual Mfg or have experience working with other comparable ERP accounting packages
