ServiceMaster Restore of Edmonton requires experienced Health & Safety Supervisor with a proven track record in managing construction/restoration/renovation projects. This position will be maternity leave coverage and a minimum of 14 months in duration.

**Position Overview**
The Health & Safety Supervisor will be responsible for managing the health and safety programs for five sister companies:
- ServiceMaster Restore,
- JK Environmental,
- Valour Mechanical,
- Revive Construction, and
- Northam Rentals.
The Health & Safety Supervisor will work closely with all levels of management to provide a consistent approach to safety across all four companies. Program maintenance and development will be a focus, as well as, WCB account and injury management. A positive mentality and a solution provider attitude are vital for success in this role.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop, promote and maintain Health & Safety program and initiatives.
- Facilitate the implementation and administration of Health and Safety policies, process and monitor compliance with all relevant legislation, rules and regulations.
- Conduct safety audits (COR and C-COR), coordinate audit recommendations and assist in development and execution of corrective action plans
- Lead joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and minutes monthly and follow up on all points to ensure matters are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Lead company-wide safety meetings monthly.
- Maintain records of all Safety and Health related training on individual employee files and databases.
- Monitor, update and communicate the ServiceMaster Restore of Edmonton Health and Safety Handbook.
- Conduct effective hazard analysis for all work centers.
- Ensure Safe Work Procedures are current and complete for all work centers.
- Investigate accidents/incidents; respond appropriately as required, including documentation, communication, training and following up with supervisors and employees.
- Supervise a H&S Coordinator and ensure they perform all duties as required.
- Update, maintain and present safety orientation and training for all new employees to ensure complete and effective understanding of potential risks and expected behaviors within the workplace.
- Maintain and present safety orientation meetings and ongoing training for existing employees and visitors as required.
- Monitor and recommend corrective action as it relates to Health & Safety violations.
- Maintain Safety and Health bulletin boards.
- Diligently encourage and promote positive and effective employee relations through communications initiatives, coaching supervisors, providing counselling to employees and monitoring employee satisfaction in all areas of Health & Safety.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Canadian legislation in regards to all H&S guidelines and communicate these accordingly
**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years’ experience in previous safety supervisor role in construction, reconstruction and/or abatement industry
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation an asset
- National Construction Safety Certification (NCSO) is required.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from accredited educational institution
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the COR Recertification process.
- Valid Internal COR Auditor training.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Previous experience with site management and supervision.
- Previous experience dealing with WCB claims, processes and programs.
- Experience with disability management, accident investigation, workplace inspection and job hazard analysis is required.
- Confidence, with the proven ability to build credibility and strong partnerships at all levels.
- Very strong sense of urgency with proven record of following through to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Energetic, self-motivated, creative and especially positive outlook.
- Proven ability to maintain confidences and ensure confidentiality of information and records.
- Experience facilitating courses, such as: Confined Space, Fall Protection, First Aid, and Drug and Alcohol awareness considered an asset.
