**About the Role**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager of Marketing and Communications sets strategy and guides marketing and communications activities for the agency. The Manager will develop marketing strategies that increase awareness and attract new donors, volunteers, and program participants; oversee marketing department staff; and project manage department workflow and day-to-day marketing communications activities.

**Main Functional Areas**

Marketing & Brand Leadership - Lead integrated campaigns that elevate Big Sisters’ profile through brand storytelling, digital marketing, and community engagement. Driving strategy to expand reach, build recognition, and strengthen our reputation.

Fundraising Communications - Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to create compelling donor communications and fundraising campaigns, including the Unleashing Potential campaign. Leverage new technology and digital platforms to broaden reach, increase impact, and build long-term support.

Program Communications - Develop and execute participant and volunteer recruitment campaigns and collateral that showcase impact and attract engagement.

People Leadership - Provide direction, coaching, and support to a team of 1-2 direct reports, while overseeing seasonal/student placements as required.

**What you will be doing**:
**Marketing & Communications**
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies, guiding the team in identifying audience targets and advancing digital marketing approaches to build support across programs, fundraising, and broader organizational initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the fundraising team to develop and execute marketing strategies that support fundraising goals.
- Build strategies to achieve and sustain growth targets for social platforms.
- In collaboration with the team, coordinating activities that support brand awareness and audience development goals.
- Manage media relations and external partnerships
- Develop and execute multi-channel, external facing campaigns to promote Big Sisters work and attract volunteers and donors.
- Community engagement including the development of impact stories, newsletters, and mail marketing
- Work with corporate supporters, donors, third party providers, Board members and other key stakeholders to help reach agency targets.
- Ensure website is leveraged as a key communication vehicle, overseeing content reviews and using data insights to inform enhancements to journeys for key audiences.
- Guide creation of annual report and newsletters

- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to a small team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing environment.
- Encourage professional growth and ensure team members have the resources they need to succeed, while leading with justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles.
- Contribute to agency-wide events, campaigns, and initiatives that strengthen our programs and community impact.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for Big Sisters, modeling our mission and values in all interactions with staff, volunteers, partners, and the broader community.
