**As a new Volunteer Coordinator joining our village, you will**:
Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver and support a comprehensive volunteer engagement program to our residents. You will work as key members of our village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’, neighbourhood and overall village needs to development volunteer engagement programs that enhance village life.
Working closely with our Director of Recreation, you will engage our residents, team members and wider local community and corporate service partners.
**To be successful as our new Volunteer Coordinator, you will**:
- Ensure effective safety procedures are developed and managed to comply with statutory obligations, in conjunction with relevant organizational policy (health and safety, emergency procedures
- Provides leadership for volunteer and student programs including recruitment, orientation (warm welcome), engagement, supervision, ongoing education, evaluation and recognition activities
- Explores opportunities for on-going volunteer and student community building including to ensure volunteers and students feel connected to each other, the Village and the community at large
- In collaboration with the People Team, implements a process to enhance student recruiting and retention ratios, improving the conversion of student to new team member
- Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
**It would be an asset if our new Volunteer Coordinator has**:
- Hold a Certificate in Volunteer Management or demonstrate relevant experience
- Post-secondary education in a human services related field (Social Services, Recreation, Volunteer Services, Gerontology, etc.)
- A current Heart Save level of CPR/First Aide (or a willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting volunteers in a social service setting
