**(2 days on-site/1 day remote)**
ErinoakKids is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to be a Volunteer Services Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, the Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for the overall delivery of service and support to volunteers as well as supporting staff as they prepare for and engage volunteers in ErinoakKids programs and services. This includes directly managing volunteers, and/or providing guidance, support, resources, and tools to staff who supervise volunteers. In keeping with ErinoakKids mission, vision and values, the Volunteer Services Coordinator encourages opportunities for clients and graduates of ErinoakKids and similar community agencies to increase skill development and enhance job skills.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit the right volunteers with the right skills;
- Interview potential volunteers to ensure the best match, check references, accept/defer/reject applicants, enter volunteer information into Better Impact database;
- Orient volunteers to increase their understanding of ErinoakKids, our clients, our services and the role and responsibilities of volunteers;
- Liaise with internal departments to determine volunteer needs;
- Promote the volunteer program in the community;
- Coordinate and recruit group volunteering opportunities;
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the programs and services delivered by volunteers and implement improvements as necessary;
- Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities;
- Develop, administer, and review policies and procedures to guide the volunteer program;
- Develop and administer forms and records to document the volunteer activities;
- Maintain accurate database of volunteer files;
- Ensure the development and/or maintenance of position descriptions for all volunteers;
- Administer and monitor expenditures for the volunteer program against the approved budget;
- Support internal departments with the intake of student placements - keep accurate records of students completing their placements and conducting their orientations;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or diploma in business, social services or a related field;
- Professional certification through the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada is preferred;
- 3-5 years of experience in the area of volunteer management, including recruitment, screening, recognition and training;
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and planning skills;
- Excellent computer skills and database competency;
- Knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to volunteerism;
- A team player and enjoys working both collaboratively and independently;
- Available to work flexible hours; some evening work and occasional weekend work may be required;
- Access to reliable transportation for work related travel.
- Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment and sensitivity in dealing with internal/external communities;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
