Ontario Pork is looking for a bright and versatile **Communication Specialist** to join the Communications and Consumer Marketing team.

**Responsibilities**

Job duties include:

- Ensure all communication from the organization supports the organization’s brand and image; is consistent with that image and promotes achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Provide writing, editing, design, production and ongoing maintenance support for internal and external print and digital assets and presentations, including the Corporate Profile.
- Liaise with department managers and staff on the development and execution of communication strategies.
- Select content, edit and post Daily News Brief
- Develop responses to industry issues to convey consistent corporate messages about the organization or sector.
- Support the development of impactful print, digital and social marketing materials, campaigns, and education resources.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and organizational skills, tact, diplomacy, and political acuity to develop strategies, proactive outreach approaches and manage issues effectively.
- Ability to understand and assess the impact of decisions and ensure that a wide range of stakeholders receive accurate and timely advice and information.

**Requirements**:
Qualifications include:

- Post-secondary education degree or diploma in a communications-related field
- A well-rounded communications professional with at least 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate marketing communications, public affairs or not-for-profit environment.
- Strong writing/editing, oral communication, and technical skills to create and/or edit a wide variety of communication materials (e.g. media releases, key messages, e-bulletins, social/ digital assets, presentations, and videos, etc.).
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with photo and video production and editing.
- Strong graphic design skills, and familiarity with software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat and Canva.
- Crisis communication skills, problem solving, planning, strong drive, self-directed, flexible, efficient and team player.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital channels.
- Proven experience writing quality content for external and internal audiences.
- Experience with visual displays and supporting an impactful presence at events.
