LOCATION: Guelph, Ontario (50% work from home)
SUMMARY:
Gateway’s HR team is looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our HR services team. Working closely with HR Programs lead, L&D lead, and other HR counterparts, the Internal Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining an internal communications strategy that supports the organizations’ strategic business priorities. The individual will develop consistent messaging to the organization’s internal stakeholders, ensuring language and style is consistent with the overall employer branding, corporate culture and values.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write, edit, proofread and produce creative and compelling communication materials that resonate with the target audience.
- The Communications audience consists of:
- Geographic Leadership Teams: business strategy planning/progress reports
- Employees: Internal announcements & presentations
- Corporate Employees: Internal corporate communications supporting strategic initiatives and high growth areas
- Human Resources: People communications and Social Impact communications
- Support our Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR teams with communicating various internal and external campaigns
- Develop design concepts for presentations, posters, templates etc. aligned with Gateway’s internal branding.
- Develop and maintain a program to celebrate employee success stories
- Responsible for managing and reporting on the impact of the communications strategy and execution, ensure consistent service delivery, identify areas to increase value, mitigate issues, and bring solutions that align with the regional strategic business priorities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Writing & Communication - Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience communicating with internal staff
- Strong MS Office skills - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with digital formats and a multi-channel approach to communication
- Degree or Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or Business degree preferred Being a self-directed individual with an eagerness to excel and who is accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Being driven to continuously learn from experiences, seek out feedback and develop opportunities based on the feedback given Not afraid to think and do differently to help build our employer brand and culture
