An integral part of the value offering for our clientele is the Sierra Custom Foods Facility. Created in 2012 this facility provides value added solutions for poultry, beef and pork. The service offerings include blast freezing; tempering; grinding; sizing; slicing; trimming; et al. Our clients demand for these services continues to evolve and expand. **About the Role**:
**_ The National Sales Manager-Retail is responsible for leading the Sierra Retail Book of Business while strategically guiding our expansion into National Retailer accounts. We are Focused on Canadian growth the potential to expand into the US._**
**Your Deliverables**:
**Business Development/Strategic Growth**
- Develop and Manage National Retail customers
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow the business and meet revenue and profit targets.
- Identify market trends and opportunities to create innovative solutions and services that align with client needs and Sierra's business goals.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop unique value propositions for each opportunity in the sales pipeline.
- Negotiate with decision-makers to close deals that maximize profitability and align with Sierra's values and goals.
- Update the CRM daily (at a minimum) to track all information related to new and existing opportunities and all activities related to each opportunity.
- Help build an annual business plan that is realistic and in line with company goals. Assume accountability for meeting the goals set in the business plan over the course of the year.
**Customer Relations & Account Management**
- Lead contact for retail customers
- Exceed customer expectations for all interactions.
- Provide support, required documents, and information for customer inquiries.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to receive accounts receivable list associated with one's clients and follow up with the clients on accounts that are overdue, taking necessary steps to ensure timely collections.
- Deal with any issues raised by clients regarding deals and determine a plan for resolution. Follow through to ensure the matter is resolved.
- Acquire new strategic business partners.
- Maintain and grow existing strategic retail and foodservice customers.
**Profit Maximization**
- Work with the team to identify production and sales opportunities that Sierra can supply.
- Negotiate with decision-makers to close deals that will maximize profitability.
- Balance activities between new and existing clients, and buy and sell activities, so that activity and financial goals are met or exceeded.
**Logistics & Inventory Coordination**
- Liaise with the sales support team and logistics department to ensure best in class service
- Manage sales forecasts for FG and supplies
**About you**:
**Education and/or Professional Designation**:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience.
**Experience**:
- 5 years of experience leading sales activities in at least one of the following protein categories: poultry, beef or pork.
**Language Skills**:
- Strong communication skills with external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Fluent in English
- Bilingual French is an asset
