**Job Description**: In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Manager, Energy Management the Energy Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a variety of energy management, sustainability and utility projects for Island Health, working with the organization's stakeholders to achieve energy management and sustainability goals and optimal energy use at the various sites through site improvements, due diligence on the performance of contracts and providing strategic information to support these processes, providing leadership and consultation to assigned project staff and communicating with staff to complete the assigned energy projects, and acting as a contact with private sector project consultant, utility providers and internal user groups on project development contracts. The Energy Coordinator may be responsible for managing facilities capital projects (and their budgets) to a value of $1.5MM. This position has no direct reports or responsibilities for operating budgets however. **QUALIFICATIONS**: **Education, Training And Experience**: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, planning, sustainability or related field and one or more of the following: Registered Professional Engineer, Registered Engineering Technologist or Technician, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Masters in Clean Energy, Journeyman Electrician, HVAC Technician, or Power Engineer (4th class minimum). **Skills And Abilities**: - A minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects in an energy, facilities, or related field, - Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for energy management, sustainability, or related field, - Proven ability to develop and communicate a business case, - High level of knowledge of energy efficiency and conservation technologies and best practices, - Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, boilers, building automation, lighting, envelope), - Demonstrated "continuous improvement" approach to work, - Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills, - Able to manage time well, meet commitments, and work independently with mínimal supervision. - An appropriate combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Additional Desired Skills and Experience: Experience with designing, commissioning or optimizing building HVAC systems in healthcare Certification in Construction or Facilities Management Awareness of the special design and operating requirements for hospitals in Canada. **Job Requirements**:
