The HRIS/Payroll Systems Team Lead will manage the portfolio of HR and Payroll systems at Flynn. They will be responsible to provide advisory services, technical guidance, and support to internal customers on the operation and maintenance of SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC), Employee Central Payroll (ECP), Lever (Recruitment), Workforce (Payroll) and other systems under the HRIS umbrella. This role will support day-to-day operations of our core HR systems and strategically plan for future maturity of our HR tool ecosystem. This includes staying up to date with current system releases, developing and implementing strategies to address problem areas with the HR solution including implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- A Day in the life
- Manage a team of HR/Payroll system analysts and administrators to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of our systems.
- Escalate issues with vendor support teams to ensure prompt turnaround on critical issues.
- Manage the backlog/queue of daily issues requiring resolution.
- Manage inbound enhancement requests from multiple functional stakeholders and ensure priority is set correctly.
- Manage the creation and sustainment of system documentation for specific HR/Payroll systems; ensure maintenance and upkeep on our training materials.
- Provide impact analysis and regression testing for proposed changes to SAP EC and ECP modules.
- Manage system testing including system upgrades and implementation.
- Collaborating with HR customers and other business functions to design/maintain processes that will improve overall effectiveness and efficiency.
- Project and Team Management
- Create HR/Payroll system roadmaps and execution strategies for both sustainment and progression of our HRIS portfolio. This includes existing system patching and upgrades as well as new system implementations.
- Create and maintain a process for collecting enhancement requests related to HRIS, determining priority, and pushing requests through a standard SDLC.
- Maintain positive relationships with appropriate HR, IT, Finance, Management, Payroll, Administration Teams, and third-party vendors to determine enhanced offerings for current and future system functionality.
- Coach existing and new staff on HR/Payroll system best practices and develop talent that will support out HRIS landscape effectively.
- Manage change and generate excitement among the team surrounding future enhancements, roadmaps, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Data Quality and Security
- Evaluating data quality issues and determining methods to improve system accuracy.
- Ensure payroll related data is handled as per the protection policy.
- What We Are Seeking
- Minimum 5 year of EC experience or 5 years’ experience with a similar solution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources Management, or related discipline required.
- In-depth knowledge of HR processes in several HR areas such as compensation, benefits, recruitment, HRIS, performance management, etc.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Ability to provide direction and coaching to HRIS analysts & administrators and influence functional stakeholders to ensure that solutions are effective and in keeping with the overall HRIS strategy.
- Strong customer service focus with demonstrated skills in supporting users to assist in addressing issues and concerns.
- Advanced skills in Excel required.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills are required.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment with shifting priorities, and the ability to reassess and reprioritize competing business needs.
