About RRI
The Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) is a global coalition of more than 150 organizations dedicated to advancing the forest, land, and resource rights of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, Afro-descendant Peoples, and in particular the women within these groups. RRI’s members capitalize on each other’s strengths, expertise, and geographic reach to achieve solutions more effectively and efficiently. RRI leverages the power of its global coalition to amplify the voices of local peoples and proactively engage governments, multilateral institutions, and private sector actors to adopt institutional and market reforms that support the realization of rights. RRI is coordinated by the Rights and Resources Group (RRG), a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC.
The Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) and Campaign for Nature (CfN) launched the Community Land and Conservation Finance Initiative (CLARIFI) in January 2022. CLARIFI is a new international funding mechanism to scale up support for secure community land rights. CLARIFI aims to address the gap in investment in Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant (IP, LC, and AD) organizations and their allies, as well as coordinate closely with organizations supporting governments and coordination across the sector. CLARIFI mobilizes and strategically deploys substantially increased levels of public and private funding to rapidly scale up the recognition of the land rights of IPs, LCs, ADs and support their conservation and development initiatives in developing countries. CLARIFI focuses on strengthening Indigenous and community organizations, enabling them to scale up the mapping and formal recognition of their lands and develop and implement their management and conservation plans.
If you are passionate about working with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro descendant Peoples to secure their rights, support women’s rights and governance, and combat climate change, this could be the place for you. RRI does meaningful work to make a positive difference on the global, national, and local scale.
Check out our current openings for more information about our inclusive and purpose-driven work.
