We are currently seeking a skilled bookkeeper with experience in the real estate and construction industries looking for part-time work managing our books.
Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Work with a Quantity Surveyor to track budgets and percentages spent.
- Work with a General Contractor to maintain and update budgets
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and tax laws.
- Collaborate to track project costs and profitability.
- Prepare and submit GST returns and other statutory filings as required.
- Manage payroll processing and related activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience in construction and real estate
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
