Mom2Mom Child Poverty Initiative Society (Mom2Mom) improves the lives of families living in poverty in Vancouver. The heart of what Mom2Mom does is pair volunteers with single mothers living in poverty to support moms and their children. Through this relationship, Mom2Mom helps to create connection, meet basic needs, and create opportunity to help families move from surviving to thriving.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
**Education**
- Diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a bookkeeper.
**Skills & Experience**
- Must have strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, exercise diplomacy and discretion.
- Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy without supervision.
- Attention to detail & organized.
- Knowledge of or experience in the not-for-profit sector.
**Responsibilities include financial management, compliance, and reporting**:
**Budgeting and Financial Planning**:
- Develop the annual organizational budget in collaboration with M2M staff, Board Treasurer, and Board Chair.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including reviewing and updating annual files.
- Recommend the year-end financial statements for Board approval and prepare annual projections for approval.
**Revenue, Expenses, and Cash Flow**:
- Prepare e-transfers and cheques as needed.
- Manage and monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, e-transfers, and accounts payable/receivable on an ongoing basis.
- Reconcile accounts, including credit cards, bank accounts, and any monthly vendor statements.
- Update records and forecast spending for future periods (monthly, quarterly, annually).
**Payroll and Tax Administration**:
- Administer bi-weekly payroll, including related tax forms and CRA payments (GST, EHC).
- Prepare and submit tax filings (T3010 annually) and assist with year-end statements.
- Ensure compliance with tax payments, installments, and statutory reporting.
**Compliance and Reporting**:
- Ensure processes meet local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements (e.g. PST, GST, Income Tax).
- Submit legal filings and statutory reports to entities such as the Registrar of BC Societies and CRA.
- Review and file annual reports and ensure all regulatory obligations are met.
**Wages**: To be discussed based on experience. This will be a part-time position of 6-7 hours/week.

Pay: From $1,200.00 per month
Expected hours: 6 - 7 per week
