**The role**
This role is responsible for a wide range of support activities within HR. Being successful in this role means that you have a natural ability to connect with people while intertwining expert-level organization with an insatiable appetite for getting things done. You’ll be tackling everything from providing support for recruitment, to onboarding, record maintenance, and assisting executives. **Work location**
100% in office (this is a heritage building and is not wheelchair accessible).
**Specific responsibilities**:
**Recruitment, selection and orientation**
- Advertise open positions externally. Coordinate with our internal Marketing team, educational institutions and third-party recruiting platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed.ca, or university and college job boards for advertising positions externally.
- Create and submit recruitment advertising expense Purchase Orders.
- Create employee job experience profiles for review by customers.
- Prepare for new employee orientations by sending documentation and instructions for orientation days to both internal teams and new hires.
- Orientation tours - The HR Administrator is the backup for these office tours.
- Coordinate campus recruiting (co-op or alumni) programs including advertising/posting positions, liaising with University Career Service Departments, and coordinating interviews.
- Print employee new hire orientation packages and organize swag.
- Occasionally work a day in the Kitchener office to help with orientations or other special HR events.
**Records management**
- Update and maintain employee records with correct information.
- Assist with vacation tracking.
**Office admin**
- Accepting deliveries.
- Morning stocking for the coffee, snacks and pop.
- Morning and afternoon kitchen cleaning.
- Support Fun Friday themes and purchases.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Physical demands**
- Exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally to move objects around the office or to transport them to and from the office.
**Education**
- Post-secondary education in diploma or degree program. Please submit transcripts.
- Holds a diploma in Human Resources Management or is in progress.
- CHRP is a bonus.
**Requirements**:
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or mastery of equivalent tools.
- MS Outlook experience, ability to learn MS Visio.
- Experience in an office support or customer service role.
- Pleasant telephone manner.
- Sociable, outgoing, and energized by dealing with people.
- Strong English language skills (written and verbal) and German language skills are a bonus.
- Exceptional organizational skills - creating and maintaining filing systems for paper and electronic information.
- Ability to handle many and varying tasks.
- Eager to do whatever it takes to help the team meet its objectives.
- Pursuing a career in HR.
- Bonus for experience with HTML, web authoring, photo editing or other advanced software.
