**Accounts Payable Clerk (Part Time Renewable Contract)**

The position of Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department. Work performed will include data entry, word processing, functioning in a full M365 work environment, record maintenance and other accounts payable duties, including maintaining records by uploading invoices to the O365 SharePoint platform, and filling out meta-data to ensure proper filing and searchability of historical documents
Key Responsibilities:
- Input accounts payable data.
- Ensure that goods and services have been received and invoices are approved before payment.
- Follow up with suppliers if there are questions about invoices that have been presented for payment.
- Pay invoices by cheque, Visa and EFT online payment, as appropriate. Balance invoices to Visa statements and follow up as required.
- Balance and process petty cash submissions and expenses reports as required.
- Reviews invoices and matches them to the bank statement.
- Assures that coding supports the budgetary requirements and regulations.
- Enters invoices into Great Plains (GP)
- Flags invoices that do not have the supporting documents and follows up with the external vendor.
- Prepares all adjusting and correcting entries.
- Prepare and process correcting and adjusting journal entries for invoices and accruals.
**Requirements**:
Education: Secondary school graduate, 1 year post-secondary education in business or accounting, and/or relevant experience an asset.
Technical skills: Current software programs including advanced O365 and Windows. Proficient knowledge of O365 is critical to this position as Traverse is a fully cloud-based organization.
Experience: In an office environment is helpful, but this position can be a hybrid, so working from home is an option once training and orientation is complete and person is working proficiently.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and strong time management skills, including the ability to meet competing deadlines, handle multiple tasks, confidentiality. Function well under pressure and work effectively as a team member. Familiar with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and Windows.
Salary Range:
- 22.5 hours a week at $22.63 per hour
**Benefits**:
- 8% in lieu of benefits.
- 4% vacation pay, paid out at each pay period.
