This person has complete responsibility for all purchasing and inventory activities including management of inventory for the company.
- Collaborate with inventory control, sales, engineering to develop metrics for gauging inventory levels needs and then maintaining those levels year over year.
- Takes the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset write offs.
- Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships, optimize inventory levels and increase service levels while reducing carrying costs.
- Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all buyers are meeting performance standards
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department
- Conducts performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company as needed
- Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly
- Maintains inventory databases
- Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies
- Collaborates with sales, customer service, operations and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department
- Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow

**Experience**:

- 8 years required, 10 years preferred of relevant experience.
- 3 years required, 5 years preferred of ERP Inventory Management Software experience.

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Related Field preferred.

**Skills**:

- Strategic and Optimized inventory
- Analytical data with robust KPI’s
- Proficient in Excel
- Lean Background
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Knowledge of Supply Chain Distribution Channel
