Wellness Coordinator

As the Wellness Coordinator you will be responsible for administration and coordination of wellness tasks, oversight of scheduling, quality control, member engagement and retention initiatives and maintenance of equipment is kept up to date.
**Location**: 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario
**Hours of work**: Part time - 15-20 hours per week - flexible hours including morning, evening and weekends.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintains high member retention (including personal training members) by delivering relationship-focused individual coaching and training other staff.
- Assists in increasing revenue for personal training through staff promotion, goal setting, and member engagement conversations.
- Assists in planning and coordinating adult-oriented special events, and supports other event programming as needed.
- Develops positive and professional relationships with new members by introducing personalized fitness programs and providing ongoing motivational coaching.
- Provides leadership on the wellness floor by encouraging wellness coaches to monitor members for safe equipment use and to offer fitness advice. Promotes adherence to wellness floor guidelines and completion of daily coach tasks.
- Supports the growth of group fitness programs (e.g., small group training).
- Assists with communication and facilitation of grant-related programs under the Wellness Department.
- Oversees and schedules wellness appointments, including follow-ups with members regarding orientation sessions.
- Assists with the safety oversight and maintenance of all equipment on the wellness floor. Submits weekly reports on equipment status, including equipment stored in the gymnasium and multipurpose rooms.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service
- Certification as a Personal Trainer (YMCA or other recognized organization) or a Coaching certification within the health and fitness industry
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience and comprehensive knowledge of the health and fitness industry
- At least 6 months of experience demonstrating strong technical and organizational skills
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
- Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
