We have created a Freight Forwarding Division to handle new outside business opportunities and require a **Sales person** to lead the effort to build new business working hand and hand with the Operations team in the business supported with Network partners all over the world.
You will ideally have **5 - 10 years** in **Freight sales** experience.
- Experience with Canadian or Global Freight forwarder.
- Industry experience/transferrable skills.
- Required Travel: 50%, or as needed to cover the sales territory.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; i.e. Power point, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, Share point.
Requirements for this role:
- Cultivates relationships with target accounts to understand their challenges and objectives in order to customize and present value solutions and pricing that results in securing new business.
- Conducts and analyzes market research using various sales tools to identify target account opportunities in international and domestics supply chain through social media, industry events, and the Collaborative Sell program.
- Collaborates with internal team members to prepare for RFI/RFQs and presentations of DBG services, then deliver presentations to interested customers.
- Ensures strong relationships with existing customers to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and further up sell of additional products and services.
- Provides weekly updates of sales activities; and upon securing new customers, reports services and customer requirements for implementation.
- Find & develop qualified leads (cold calling), then convert them through the sales process into prospects and customers.
- Continuously keep the sales pipeline full with deals at various types and stages, including fresh/new (qualified) leads/introductions, mid/late-stage sales life cycle targets.
- Perform regular visits to qualified prospects and customers to drive the business and grow the company's revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Stay in communication with key decision-makers through value-driven communications.
- Develop an understanding of each customer’s supply chain operation and match DBG solutions with that understanding to generate high-impact, customer-centric proposals Manage business development and delivery objectives with new customers
