The region of Food Basics Stores this position will oversee will be within a designated area in Ontario.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Execute Metro’s corporate responsibility plan by enhancing the environmental performance of our operations, especially around waste diversion, and to also strengthen Metro’s actions to support an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects the customers we serve.Develop the operating plan and goals for each store within the district for customer focus, sales, profits, controllable expenses, labor and shrinkDefine the tactics necessary to meet the operating plan and goals and maximize sales and profit by storeSupport Organizational priorities and minimize risk to the company by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety regulations, compliance with Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Risk Management requirements, Company Policies and procedures and Collective Bargaining agreementsHire, train, manage and develop a staff of store management who are competent in technical proficiency capable of attaining or exceeding sales and profit goals set for the stores within the districtEnsure optimum customer satisfaction levels and standards, and ensure effective resolutions to customer inquiries or complaintsConduct reviews with the Store Manager on controls over inventory and controllable expenses to assure desired profit levels.  Conduct reviews of all financial reporting and P&L information. Monitor and evaluate actual operating results versus the budget for each store and the departments within each store.  Work with the Store Manager to correct significant variances from the budgetVisit each store and meet with store management on a regular basis to review operations, productivity, labour, inventory and other operational items.
