We’re searching for a Payroll Administrator who loves getting every detail just right. At Hazelwood, you’ll be the go-to person for all things payroll — processing bi-weekly runs, mentoring teammates, and keeping our paychecks (and people) happy. You’ll work closely with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to make sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine. When something doesn’t add up, you’re the first to dig in, troubleshoot, and find a solution. Benefits of Employment – Why work at Hazelwood? What You’ll Do Process accurate bi-weekly payrolls for multiple companies within the Hazelwood Group — making payday everyone’s favourite day. Handle commissions, taxable benefits, RRSPs, union remittances, and reimbursements with precision and consistency. Ensure all source deductions, WCB, EHT, and government remittances are prepared and submitted accurately and on time. Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring information is current, compliant, and audit-ready. Create and distribute ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports that help teams make informed decisions. Troubleshoot payroll issues, collaborate with system providers or governing bodies, and find effective solutions. Partner with the HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment between pay, personnel records, and accounting entries. Mentor Payroll Assistants, offering guidance, training, and support to build confidence and consistency across the team. Assist with year-end activities including T4s, reconciliations, and other reporting tasks. Spot opportunities for process improvements and automation that make payroll smoother, faster, and more accurate. Jump in to support team coverage during absences or special projects — teamwork makes the dream work What You Bring: Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification (National Payroll Institute). 3–5 years of payroll experience (multi-company preferred). Hands-on with ADP, Eclipse, or Payworks. Solid understanding of Canadian payroll laws and tax rules. Strong computer skills, especially Excel, Word, Outlook. Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy. Clear communication and time management skills. A team-player attitude with a readiness to pitch in wherever needed.
