De La Salle College is an independent, Roman Catholic, co-educational day school, founded in the teachings and traditions of St. John Baptist de La Salle. De La Salle continues to educate both young men and women from grades 5 – 12 in a truly Christian atmosphere. Roles include: Assisting the Director of Student Services with the operation of the Student Services department Assisting with the commencement of the academic year i.e. timetable changes, timetable assignments and teacher submissions of course descriptions and/or report card descriptions Counselling students for academic and social/emotional support Working with students to build high school and university pathway plans Fulfilling various academic administrative duties, including registration, data entry, reporting, and Ministry requirements related to OEN, OSR, OST, PLAR, OSSLT, OnSIS etc. Providing support to the principal on guidance-related matters and Ministry of Education reports Assisting with the implementation of special events that occur throughout the school year Demonstrated passion and leadership in extra-curricular activities Working with students in both group settings and on a one-on-one basis to create an academic plan that relates to tangible career goals that will help students achieve personal success, feel encouraged and envision their future Preferred Experience: Bachelor degree in Education, OCT certification Qualifications in Guidance and Career Education Experience as a Secondary School Guidance Counsellor Skills to help provide academic advisory services to students Ability to implement student leadership lessons and workshops Liaising and communicating with teachers, students, parents and administrators Working with the universities/college application process for Canadian, US and International Schools Strong communication skills Strong collaborative skills Candidates must provide: Cover Letter Resume Copy of Certificate of Qualifications Current pastoral reference if available The College invites qualified individuals to apply by Friday, July 11, to .
