Summary:Performs tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of Meridian Trucks and Equipment such as trucks, tractors, trailers, forklifts, etc. The successful candidate must be able to service troubleshoot, dismantle, align, and assemble trucks, equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition. Work assignments will be received in English in the form of oral and/or written work orders.Core Competencies:Quality OrientationTime ManagementCreative and Innovative ThinkingAttention to DetailAccountability and DependabilityCommunication, both oral and writtenTeam WorkJob Duties:Installation of new and added-on equipmentConduct service and assist in the repairs on vehicles and equipmentPerform scheduled and unscheduled service, maintenance and repairs to trucks and equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operateAccurate completion of work ordersMaintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational H&S regulationsAssist in preventative and predictive maintenance schedulesPerform in a team environment with minimal supervisionOther mechanical repair work as requiredRequirements:At least 5 years experience with Mechanical work (Automotive, Agricultural, Heavy-Duty Equipment & Industrial), preferredAbility to lift or move objects up to 50lbAbility to work with both hands above shoulder height as well as underneath equipmentSafety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.Experience with routine maintenance operationsAbility to work independently in a busy environmentAble to work well under pressureAble to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all timesValid Class 5 license requiredAbility to operate trucks requiring Class 1 drivers license, preferredWork Conditions:Ability to use desktop computer and peripheralsOvertime as requiredHazards associated with the tradeWork both indoor and outdoorWork Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift- 6:00AM to 2:15PM; Evening Shift- 2:15PM to 10:15PMMeridian Manufacturing Inc., supports employees and candidates by providing reasonable accommodations in the workplace.
