Ranch Hand

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a **highly experienced rancher** to join our team. This role is fully hands-on, working with a large herd, unloading and moving bales, fixing and building fences, maintaining equipment, and tackling the everyday jobs that come with ranch life.. We're looking for someone passionate, self-motivated, team player and ready to live the beautiful Okanagan ranch life.

**Duties**
- Assist with livestock care, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring
- Perform general maintenance and repairs using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed
- Operate farm machinery including tractors, mowers, and irrigation systems to manage land and water resources
- Maintain fences, gates, and other structures to ensure safety and security of the property
- Support horticultural activities such as planting, pruning, and weed control
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and infrastructure to identify repair needs
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to land clearing or equipment installation
- Follow safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries

**Qualifications**
- **Minimum 8 years of hands-on ranching experience**:

- Proven experience managing large herds of beef cattle
- Extensive knowledge of calving and cattle health protocols
- Strong equipment operation and mechanical skills
- Experience with planting and harvesting feed crops
- Must be physically fit, reliable, and passionate about ranch life
- Class 1 or 3 license an asset
- Livestock recordkeeping experience (we use HerdX app)
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards

This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our ranch operations. We value dedicated individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to our team’s success.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
