Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Training & Competency Coordinator will be responsible for the development and delivery of all operations training materials and will ensure that Operations is compliant with the Safety Training Matrix and competency matrix. The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination, presentation, implementation, and monitoring of the Operations Competency Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the strategic alignment of succession planning for staff between various business
  • Develop training materials and identify training needs by working with a variety subject matter experts
  • Establish benchmarks for training qualification requirements for staff
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to identify specific training needs by compiling task inventories and skills profiles.
  • Ensure training program material incorporates regulatory body requirements e.g. TSASK, OH&S
  • Define, develop and deliver Vendor/Manufacturer specific training programs as required.
  • Verify using auditing programs, the effectiveness of training service delivery, material and compliance of training records.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Strathcona Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Development and implementation of new hire area orientation and onboarding program.
  • Develop and present training and competency KPI’s.
  • Promote continuous improvement of training and competency program.
  • Coordinate documentation reviews and solicit feedback and approval from other affected disciplines.

Qualifications Include

  • 4-6 years of experience in the development or implementation of an operational training program. Consideration for individuals with extensive leadership/mentorship experience would be considered.
  • Ability to take initiatives and drive execution with a business result
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, and complex work environment.
  • Effective working knowledge of a SAGD facility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
