AML Oceanographic has clocked average annual growth of more than 20% over the past 8 years. How? Most importantly, we’ve built a team that provides outstanding service and truly cares about our customers. AML has a market reputation for two things:

We manufacture ocean sensing solutions – sensors, instrumentation, and deployment systems – for business and government customers on all seven continents. As a hi-tech business, our technical team includes experts and engineers with experience in the acoustic, mechanical, electrical, software, and embedded software domains. We operate from locations at either end of Canada: Halifax (Dartmouth) on the Atlantic Coast, and Victoria on the Pacific Coast.

Functional Accountabilities

Quality Driven - Out of the box product failures are Fulfillment Efficiency - Improve throughput without compromising on quality. Dock all orders scheduled for the week more than 95% of the time; identify any schedule issues in advance. Team Performance - Proactively provide assistance to team members to achieve the weekly department goals. Capable of processing orders.Raises the Bar - Active participant in the pursuit of higher performance standards within the business unit. Safety Ownership - Hold yourself and others accountable for proactively identifying and adhering to safe work practices. Continuous Improvement - Recommends and trials at least 2 process improvements per quarter. Cross Training - Learn at least one new product/process per quarter or train another team member on at least one new product/process. Accurate Records - Constantly strives to improve quality, and ensures fulfillment records are complete and accurate. Quality control checks are accurate and timely.

  • Meticulous & Detail Oriented - An aptitude for meticulous, detail oriented work. Can effectively use assembly tools. Ability to efficiently identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Troubleshooting Skills - Can troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems. Ability to distinguish symptoms from root cause.
  • ERP & Computer Skills - Can use a computer effectively and interact with various software programs including ERP. Can generate all paperwork required to fulfill an order.
  • Aptitude for Process Improvement - Ability to think in terms of process. Can visualize steps and sequencing. Is able to distinguish what adds value.
  • Communication Skills - Responsive to the needs of internal and external customers. Can communicate in English effectively in a clear, concise, and professional manner; both written and verbal.
