Our Legislative & Executive Services Department is looking for a dedicated Director to join the team.

Position Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, The Director of Legislative and Executive Services provides strategic leadership and expert guidance to ensure the effective administration of municipal governance functions. This includes overseeing legislative processes, Council operations, intergovernmental affairs and executive services while ensuring compliance with provincial and municipal legislation.

The Director serves as a liaison between provincially elected officials and City administration, facilitating transparent decision-making, policy development, and implementation.

The role is pivotal in supporting Council activities, managing appropriate legal and procedural matters and advancing Council's strategic and advocacy priorities.

A primary aspect of this role is supporting the ability of the organization to meet residents’ needs while maintaining a balanced budget and achieving positive outcomes.

This position will be required to develop and implement strategies, plans, and programs that facilitate efficient operations that serve the organization, as well as throughout the broader community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Public Administration or Management or equivalent

Hours

The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours (flexible), with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
