We are seeking a BIM/CAD Manager to join our team in Edmonton, AB. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects. The position will include a secondary role as a Leading Specialist, contributing specialized technical management capabilities to the BIM team. As a Leading Specialist, you provide high-level, senior BIM expertise to projects and develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve the Company's BIM and CADD practices.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Undertake activities within projects calling for a wide-ranging insight into BIM;
  • Develop and implement design best practices in areas of expertise, including the development and implementation of Action Plans as delegated by the Head of Discipline
  • Develop technical talent, including the development and implementation of specialist training programs, identification of staff for advanced and/or specialized training, and mentoring of key staff in specialized areas of expertise
  • Guide CADD/BIM project collectives and control resources to secure the attainment of profitability and specified targets
  • Create and own the multidisciplinary spatial coordination responsibility for bridge, tunnel, and marine infrastructure projects in 3D, considering coordination with structural, architectural, MEP, and civil components
  • Coordinate with the COWI North America digital steering committee to ensure meeting of digital transformation targets
  • Initiate BIM kickoff gatherings and create BIM execution strategies at the project's outset
  • Facilitate BIM training sessions with the rest of the team

On top of that, you will:

  • A diploma in CAD/BIM technology from a recognized school or institution in addition to 15+ years relevant engineering or drafting experience
  • Possess a minimum of five years' experience in BIM management and coordination roles within major, multidisciplinary infrastructure initiatives
  • Be familiar with modelling process in different BIM design applications and interoperability with different tools
  • Demonstrated capability with multiple drafting and design tools, including but not limited to Civil3D, Revit, Tekla, Dynamo, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
  • Significant attention to detailing of complex bridge components with experience in steel detailing, concrete, reinforcement
  • Proficient in written and verbal English communication
  • Ability to contribute to proposal development
  • Ability to assign work, coach, mentor and supervise all levels of CADD/BIM technicians
  • Self-motivated, focused, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
