Bridge Engineer Opportunities

COWI is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team in Edmonton.

About the Role

As a Bridge Engineer, you will work closely with a team of experts on some of North America's most significant projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets along with performing analysis of complex structures
  • Prepare design calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable design codes, and also prepare engineering reports and other technical documents
  • Prepare standard construction documents, such as technical specifications and tender documents
  • Conduct site inspections from time to time and perform other responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or higher, be registered as an Engineer in the home province or obtain registration within 12 months of employment, and have a minimum of 4+ years of related experience in Bridge Design
  • Be familiar with bridge design codes such as CHBDC and AASHTO, and have sufficient exposure to structural analysis software programs
  • Be conversant in the use of engineering and drafting software
  • Be knowledgeable in parametric conceptual designs and the use of programming environments
  • Ideally have site supervision and contract administration experiences in projects for Alberta Transportation, City of Edmonton, and City of Calgary
