Quality Assurance Technician/ SQF Practitioner Reports To: QA Manager Location: Langley, BC The Quality Assurance Technician/ SQF Practitioner position is a key food quality and safety function within Huer Foods Inc. This role is most suitable for a detail-oriented, well-organized, and highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment knowing that others will rely on and depend on the execution of their work. Responsibilities & Key Tasks: Ensures the product and its packaging meet food quality and safety standards. Need 16 hours of HACCP training and SQF training. Takes responsibility in making sure the production employees follow the guidelines related to SQF, GMP, and HACCP. Ensures process guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Sampling and testing incoming bulk candies. Develops and delivers training related to SQF/Quality Assurance/ HACCP to all employees. Prepare and assist QA Manager in annual SQF certification audits. Is responsible for all SQF implementation at the frontline level – forms, verifies employees are following SQF procedures Establish and maintain company's food safety culture. Review in-house nutritional and label information and coordinate label development. Preoperational equipment inspections and ensure the effectiveness of sanitation. Maintain and review QA/QC/Production documents. Work cross functionally with management and production workers to develop and maintain systems that promote a quality and food safety culture. Maintain and open Corrective actions for food safety and quality issues. Perform tasks assigned by QA manager when required. Lead and participate in problem solving activities concerning food safety. Maintain a system database required to generate paperwork for packing different candy SKU's. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Food Science, Chemistry). Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. HAACP, SQF certified preferred. Self-starter can work independently with minimal direction. Enthusiastic and approachable personality. Strong collaboration skills within a team environment Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and organization skills.
