If so, please read on for more information The Technical Sales Engineer is a full-time role reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, you will be a key contributor to driving the revenue pipeline for ENGIN™ and managing relationships with clients. This role includes extensive travel as a result of our business growth strategy.This is a greenfield opportunity to build our technical sales organization and a growth opportunity to lead the business unit as it scales. One of our core differentiators is the technical experience and support our clients receive, this role will include shared responsibility with the CEO for the performance of the company’s topline revenue. The successful candidate is uniquely qualified to leverage cross-functional teams (delivery, marketing, product development and infrastructure), have a strong knowledge in complex enterprise software sales and a requirement of having worked with several regulated businesses, and understand their common buying processes and challenges. The proponent will be offered a equity incentive in the company based on target revenue performance, this position is meant for those seeking to join an early-stage company and be compensated with long term equity-based incentives.The ideal candidate will have:· Strong knowledge of energy and utilities industries, especially asset performance management and decision analytics.· Expertise in B2B enterprise software with a focus on technical selling.· Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.· Problem-solving mindset with a focus on aligning technical solutions to business outcomes.· Proficiency in tools like CRM platforms, data analysis software, and relevant technical software (e.g., APM platforms or simulation tools).· A mix of technical, sales, and industry-specific skills balancing the technical depth needed for credibility with the persuasive skills required to drive sales.· High neuroplasticity and ability to learn the product suite inside out· 2+ years of experience in technical sales at a top engineering technology or other market leading company. · Bachelor’s degree in a technical specialization (applied sciences, engineering)· Motivation to grow our business and take on leadership roles to scale the technical sales organization as it grows· Team player with the ability to operate independently and take initiative. ·  Added benefit: o  Experience with sales of asset performance management, asset investment planning, load forecasting, vegetation management, digital twin, EAM, CMMS, or data analytic platform technologieso  Understanding of intermediate statistics and financial engineering concepts. o  Work experience in electrical power system planning at a utility or consultant.Responsibilities:·        Pre-Sales Activitieso  Create and conduct product demonstrations tailored to the energy and utilities market.o  Develop and present compelling use cases for asset performance management and decision analysis.o  Collaborate with clients to understand their technical and business requirements.·        Technical Expertiseo  Stay up to date on industry standards and the company’s software products.o  Provide technical input to proposals, RFPs, and other sales-related documentation.o  Troubleshoot and resolve technical questions during the sales process.·        Sales Enablemento  Design and present ROI models to showcase the value of solutions in asset performance and decision-making.o  Assist in crafting compelling sales pitches by aligning technical solutions to business needs.o  Partner with account executives to strategize on target accounts and sales approaches.·        Customer Onboarding and Successo  Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to deployment.o  Provide initial technical training to new customers.·        Market Insightso  Research and analyze customer pain points in the energy and utilities sector, focusing on asset performance and decision-making challenges.o  Communicate market trends and competitor insights to product development teams.·        Solution Developmento  Work with customers to develop proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions and pilots that demonstrate product value.o  Customize configurations to address unique client challenges.·        Relationship Buildingo  Foster trust with technical stakeholders, such as asset/maintenance engineers and system plannerso  Maintain relationships post-sale to identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.·        Presentations and Workshopso  Conduct technical workshops and webinars for prospective and existing clients.Information Security Responsibilities:·        Adhering to policies that govern acceptable use of organizational systems.·        Using the organization-provided IT resources for defined purposes only. ·        Reporting anomalies or suspicious system behaviour.·        Submitting and justifying system change requests to the information owner/system owner or through the organization’s formal configuration management process.  Technologies we use: · Java, Scala, Spring framework, Python, Apache Spark, Node.JS, Angular2+, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Bitbucket, AWS hosting with Docker, Jenkins, Microsoft suite (Office 365, Teams)What we offer:· Fully remote work with offices in Calgary and Toronto.· Flexible work hours (Core working hours 10:00AM to 2:00PM).· Autonomy with a wide range of responsibilities, opportunities for advancement, and cross-disciplinary exposure.· Stock options so you can realize the value created with your work in the organization.· The opportunity to put your skills to work, add milestones to your resume, and be part of something great from the early stages of a promising business.· Interactive and supportive remote workplace culture.· Competitive compensation package.· Paid time off.· Benefits and Health spending account.
