A dynamic and fast-scaling global payments firm are offering the opportunity for a Senior BDM to lead the expansion of their financial institution network across North and South America, including Canada.
This is a pivotal role within an innovative payments business, offering the chance to help build world-class payment infrastructure and deliver new corridors for international transactions. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven, commercially minded professional to shape strategic partnerships in one of the most exciting sectors of financial services.
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams—BD, legal, risk, compliance, and product—to secure, implement, and manage strategic partnerships with banks and financial institutions. You'll play a key role in enabling international payment flows and expanding market presence across the Americas.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior BDM:
- Identify and secure new strategic partnerships with financial institutions across North and South America to unlock new payment corridors and drive regional growth.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify innovative and scalable payment solutions tailored to business needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including product and implementation teams—to ensure partner capabilities align with business objectives and oversee smooth onboarding processes.
- Coordinate with compliance and risk teams to ensure new business flows meet regulatory standards and internal policy.
- Serve as a key escalation point for any operational challenges with new or existing partners.
- Contribute to the development of a global FI partnership strategy, working alongside senior leadership to drive long-term success.
Key Requirements of the Senior BDM:
- 5+ years' experience in financial institution partnerships, business development, solution sales, or account management within the payments or fintech space.
- Strong network of financial institution contacts across the Americas is highly advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of the North American payments landscape, including API connectivity, APMs, cross-border payments, FX, and payment rails (e.g., ACH, RTP, SWIFT).
- Proven success in negotiating complex deals with senior stakeholders (e.g., MD/CRO level).
- Strong track record of delivering against growth targets and driving operational excellence.
- Experience across e-Commerce, B2B, and SaaS platforms is a plus.
- Degree in Finance, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
