About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Homecare Specialist Nurse to join our team in Vernon, BC.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in patients' lives. As a Homecare Specialist Nurse, you will be responsible for administering medications in patients' homes, clinics, and physician partnership clinic settings.

You will assess, monitor, and provide education to patients and caregivers based on product monographs and program protocols. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work independently will enable you to effectively communicate with patients, family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

In this role, you will also participate in web-based meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in patients' homes, clinics, and physician partnership clinic settings.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide education to patients and caregivers based on product monographs and program protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in web-based meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Current registration with the licensing body; CPR certificate.
  • Experience in a critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting.
  • ACLS, PALs, MS, and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook (email), and MS Word and other applicable computer programs.
  • Excellent customer service skills for managing daily interactions with patients, family members, physicians, and other clients.
  • Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team.
  • Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary.
