Job Overview

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Registered Nurse to join the Downtown West Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team (FACT).

About the Role

This challenging position requires an experienced psychiatric/mental health nurse to provide client-centred care to individuals with serious mental illness and complex needs. As a member of an inter-professional team, you will practice in accordance with regulatory standards, CAMH policies, and the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care as the primary worker for multiple clients, while being available to support other team members.
  • Perform assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate inter-professional plans of care for clients.
  • Liaise with community agencies to coordinate care and follow clients during hospitalization.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their social networks, and the treatment team to achieve successful integration into the community.

Requirements

  • Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certification and membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Two years of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, inter-professional environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing and addiction issues, as well as the Mental Health Act.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and proficiency in a second language are assets.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
