Job Title: RPN-TFT-Paediatric Inpatient Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Paediatric Inpatient Unit team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an RPN to provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including children with complex medical needs. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of each child and their family.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement care plans that address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent experience in paediatric nursing, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in BCLS
  • Recent continuing education in paediatric nursing, lactation support/education, or Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
