Job Title: RPN-TFT-Paediatric Inpatient Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Paediatric Inpatient Unit team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

About the Role:

As a RPN on our Paediatric Inpatient Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including children with complex medical needs. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, utilizing the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, and wound care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent experience in Paediatric Nursing, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses Paediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Experience with Central Venous Line Management
  • Knowledge of lactation support and education
