Job Title: RPN-TFT-Paediatric Inpatient Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Paediatric Inpatient Unit team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an RPN to provide high-quality patient care to a diverse population of children and families. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of each individual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to children and families in the Paediatric Inpatient Unit
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective care strategies
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent experience in Paediatric Nursing, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Paediatric nursing principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Experience with Central Venous Line Management
  • Knowledge of lactation support and education
