Retail Meat Cutter

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Processing Specialist to join our team at Yellowknife Direct Charge Co-operative Ltd. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure a safe and healthy environment for our customers.
- Cut and Trim Meats: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands.
- Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats to ensure freshness and quality.
- Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale to ensure accuracy and fairness.
- Cut Poultry and Fish: Cut poultry into parts and clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
- Price and Sell Meats: Price meat products and sell meats to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Grind and Slice Meats: Grind meats and slice cooked meats to meet customer demands.
- Prepare Special Orders: Prepare special orders for customers, including shaping, lacing, and tying roasts and other meats.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail meat cutting environment.
- Language: English language proficiency.
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
