We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Yellowknife Direct Charge Co-operative Ltd. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meat products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and prepare meats for processing and cutting
- Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands
- Wrap and package prepared meats for sale
- Remove bones from meat and poultry
- Weigh meats accurately for sale
- Cut poultry into parts and prepare fish and shellfish for sale
- Price meat products competitively
- Clean and maintain a safe and hygienic work environment
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive store environment
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail meat cutting environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
