About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team at Yellowknife Direct Charge Co-operative Ltd. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Cut and Trim Meats: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands.
  • Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cut Poultry and Fish: Cut poultry into parts and clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
  • Price and Sell Meats: Price meat products and sell them to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Prepare Special Orders: Prepare special orders for customers, including cutting and packaging meats to meet their specific needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail meat cutting environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
