About the Role

As a Creative Director for Kids' Games at Wizards of the Coast, you will be responsible for defining and driving the overall design vision for our mobile games aimed at young children.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design Vision & Leadership: Develop and own the design vision for new and existing live-service mobile games, ensuring they are fun, engaging, and appropriate for children.
  • Creative Innovation: Drive the development of fresh, engaging content that captivates children, balancing fun with the curiosity to learn, and aligns with evolving trends in children's digital entertainment and brand narratives.
  • Game Mechanics & Systems Design: Define and implement core game mechanics, systems, and features that drive engagement and retention.
  • Monetization: Collaborate with product management to ensure that the game's design and monetization strategies are harmoniously integrated into gameplay loops, prioritizing parent-friendly payment models over aggressive in-app purchases or ads.
  • Player-Centric Design: Champion the needs of young players, ensuring the games are intuitive, frustration-free, and accessible, with clear gameplay mechanics that enable kids to explore, play, and create independently.
About You

We are looking for a seasoned game designer with 7+ years of experience in game design, including at least 3 years in a senior design role for mobile games, ideally within live service environments.

You should have a proven track record building and delivering engaging game mechanics and content that resonate with a young audience. Experience working on games for children or family-friendly titles is highly desirable.

In addition, you should have a strong understanding of live-service game design, including systems design, content delivery, and event-driven engagement models. Your ability to lead and encourage a creative team will also be essential.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
