Centre for Addiction and Mental Health - CAMH is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Crisis and Critical Care (CCC) program at the Queen Street Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic client-centred psychiatric nursing care to clients experiencing the acute phase of a mental and/or addictions disorder.

The CCC-6 inpatient service is a 25-bed unit, comprising 20 general beds and 5 beds in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). As a member of the inter-professional team, the successful candidate will work with clients from diverse populations, contributing to program development, participating in reflective practice sessions, facilitating group programming, and providing mentorship and supervision to students.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent mental health and substance-related disorder knowledge, trauma-responsive behaviours, mental status and physical health assessment skills, as well as the ability to monitor client response to pharmaceutical interventions. This role requires flexibility, with 12-hour day, evening, night, and weekend rotations.

Successful candidates will be well-supported by the unit leadership team, the Advance Practice Clinical Leader, and the Manager during their orientation. The focus will be on developing and refining the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and effectively on an acute general psychiatric unit.

This position offers a competitive salary, estimated to be in the range of $85,000 to $105,000 per annum, depending on experience.
