About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Meat department and ensuring that it operates at the highest level of productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and Development: Recruit, motivate, and mentor a high-performing team of Meat department employees to achieve exceptional results.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, and to promote a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric approach and ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and support.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of meat products.
  • Financial Management: Analyze and manage financial data to ensure that the Meat department operates within budget and achieves its financial objectives.
  • Merchandising and Visual Displays: Develop and implement effective merchandising and visual display strategies to drive sales and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all aspects of the Meat department operate in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a meat department management role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of meat products, including raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs. Proficient in financial management, inventory control, and merchandising.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
