About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Meat department and ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and Development: Recruit, motivate, and mentor a high-performing team of Meat department employees to achieve exceptional results.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, and to promote a culture of excellence.
  • Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric approach and ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and support.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of meat products.
  • Financial Management: Analyze and manage departmental budgets, including labor costs, inventory expenses, and sales performance.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all Meat department operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and that high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are maintained.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform business decisions and drive growth.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a meat department management role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and coaching skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of meat products, including raw materials, product processes, and quality control costs.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
