About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapy Resident plays a vital role in our tertiary care setting, assessing and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of physiotherapy assessment and treatment, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The Physiotherapy Resident is responsible for developing holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining optimal function. This position also involves supervising physiotherapy assistants and collaborating with other healthcare disciplines to determine team goals and objectives.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physiotherapy Resident who possesses a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university. Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists is also required. Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook, are essential for this role. Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification and WHMIS training and certification are also necessary.

Additional courses or education in specialized areas, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc., are an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Hours
  • Temporary Full-time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shifts include days and some weekends
  • Travel to various sites may be required
Compensation and Benefits

$33.97 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
